What I learn from creating this website as an e-portfolio
Creating an e-portfolio was a valuable experience that enhanced both my technical and reflective skills. One of the most significant benefits was the opportunity to organize my work in a structured way. Through creating my own e-portfolio, I learned how to design a website, organize content with not only texts but also images or videos, and present my work to my classmates. I saw this as a creative way to engage my classmates with visual content.

Additionally, managing my e-portfolio allowed me to analyze areas for improvement by reviewing and revising my work. This self-assessment allowed me to take responsibility for my learning. Besides, although I haven’t received any comments from my peers, I believe that the comment box plays an important role in my self-reflection because peers’ constructive feedback can help me improve my written work and the visual effectiveness of my e-portfolio. What’s more, compliments from peers will also motivate me to become a better author.
Challenges in the e-portfolio creation process

In the beginning stage of creating an e-portfolio on Wix.com, I used a template because I thought this way could save some time on designing the webpages. However, using the template limited my actions. For example, I needed to delete a lot of unnecessary words, images, and pre-determined functions in the template. After removing all the OBSTICLES, I lost. I could not follow the teacher assistant’s instructions. Consequently, I downloaded the instruction slides and built my websites as “after-school homework”.
How I overcame the difficulties in creating my e-portfolio
After I finished my “after-school homework”, I was still not satisfied with my first e-portfolio. Thus, I created another one without templates. Then, my eyes felt comfortable since it was blank and there was nothing I had to delete. In this way, I had much more freedom to choose the layouts and colors of every web page. Now, I finally feel that this e-portfolio has become my “own” e-portfolio.

In fact, in the beginning, I even wanted to give up constructing the e-portfolio on Wix.com and use Google Sites instead because it seemed to be easier when one of my classmates demonstrated. However, after solving the difficulty when using Wix.com by myself, I decided to continue using Wix.com to build up my e-portfolio since it has a big advantage—It does not require large cloud storage in Google.
Impacts of the e-portfolio creation on my learning experience

The impact of creating an e-portfolio on my learning experience was profound. Unlike traditional assignments, the e-portfolio provided a continuous space for progress so that I could keep track of my improvement over time. In addition, it encouraged me to engage with multimodal composition, integrating text, images, and videos to enrich my content. This process not only deepened my understanding of digital literacy but also made my learning more fun. Moreover, the e-portfolio served as a personal showcase stage, making it easier to showcase my work to others while protecting my privacy.
Future implementation of the e-portfolio or multimodal composing in my teaching
Through the TELL course, I see potential in incorporating e-portfolios and multimodal composing into my future teaching. E-portfolios can help students take responsibility for their learning by allowing them to trace their progress over time. Additionally, although it might be difficult for students to construct their e-portfolios because of technical issues, I would

still integrate these ideas to promote students’ digital literacy skills in order to keep up with today’s fast development of technology. Therefore, in my future teaching, I plan to implement e-portfolios as a tool for student reflection and assessment. As for multimodal composing, it will provide students with different ways to express their ideas beyond traditional written formats.
